Abandoned 2007 provides vehicle for Chinese orphans

Hope for a Child travelled to Jingdong, China in 2006 (read story here).
We discovered when spending time at the orphanage, a great need of theirs was to have a 4x4 vehicle to assist with Care for Children's fostering project. Children are fostered out of the orphanage back into local Chinese families, which need to be visited on a regular basis. Jingdong is in one of the most remote areas in China, the terrain is very rough and the orphanage had no transportation to do this.

Our Hope for a Child launch event 'Abandoned 2007' raised £20,000 for projects, £16,000 of which paid for a Honda CRV to provide this essential transport for the Jingdong orphanage. In August 2007, a group of sixteen people from Guernsey travelled again to the orphanage, to see our friends and present them with the vehicle.

THANKYOU SO MUCH TO ALL WHO GOT INVOLVED WITH ABANDONED 2007.
